"Welcome  to The Chocolate Bar in Nijmegen."

During all the activities I take you on a journey through the world of chocolate. I give you insight into the historical and technical development of cocoa flour to liquid chocolate. I do this on the basis of film and examples. I will show you how chocolate is made and processed. Chocolate for everyone!

In English or Dutch
From Monday to Sunday you can attend a workshop from one person by appointment. However, you must understand Dutch to the assembled groups. 
If you don’t understand Dutch I do it in English only for you (or your group) on a special day and time it fits the best for you and me.
On Saturday and Sunday you can enroll from one person to the assembled groups. All activities are open 5 days a week for you cared 10 am to 10 pm. Sunday night, I’m closed.

You can find me in the old soup factory “Honig” in Nijmegen.
The former Honig Factory is the new hotspot in Nijmegen. You can eat and drink, shopping, going to the bazaar market, making music and stuff let carpentry. It is the place for different (urban) sports, young entrepreneurs, arts and culture, and fun events. In Foodlab (former laboratory Honig), a part of The Crucible, The Chocolate Bar located. Taste, do and experience under the direction of the Chef! Make your own creations in nutrition and learn along the way how tastes and textures give your taste buds color. As your host, I focus on the social gathering make chocolates. The right ingredients are in house for your business colleagues, family, group of friends or loved ones to make your stay a relaxing break. You always go home with popcorn in hand. Since 1998, there have been many participants who are licking their fingers during a workshop. Will you do that?

Initiator of The Chocolate Bar is Marc Willemse.
He started in 1998 with the first workshops chocolates make on location. That was in people's homes and hotels. In 2001 a permanent location was found. Meanwhile, the company is a breeding ground for many ideas and creations in chocolate and sweets. For Marc chocolate is not only delicious but also happy to talk about the world behind the chocolate. You will experience it here, from origins to the present.

You can log on every day of the week from one person. on Saturday and Sunday all groups are merged but you will still be together. All workshops will all start at the same time with the introduction but end up at another time.

The workshops are in time 2 or 3 hours.
The cost are € 33,50 for all workshops of 2 hours and € 43,50 for all workshops of 3 hours,

The Chocolate Bar is in the "Foodlab" in Honig Complex in Nijmegen.

Tastings / demonstration

I take you from cocoa flower to chocolate bar during this tasting demonstration in this fascinating story. I show you how chocolate and chocolates are made and of course you can also taste them. I let cocoa smell and taste from different parts of the world. After the explanation, you make 2, 4 or 6 chocolates yourself and pack them in a nice box, at least when they get the box!
